I take a civil service exam today. I can type pretty fast but I have never had any formal training so I am a bit worried that I may fail. Just curious to know if anyone knows what the procedures are.Is it true that they cover your hands for a civil service typing exam?
I took the typing test in Broward county Florida. Each place is different. My test consisted of typing a page single spaced. I forgot how long they gave you but it would be very hard to finish it. This is so they can find out how many words a minute you type. They take off points for misspelled words or missed punctuation. They did not cover our hands. Is it true that they cover your hands for a civil service typing exam?
I took a typing test and my hands were NOT covered either. If you think that yours will be, try covering your hands to practice.
The 'hard' part of my typing test was that you got points taken away for misspelled words and for failure to capitalize and punctuate (sp)
There are some free typing test that you can find online and you can practice and get a good idea regarding where you are in the wpm game.
GOOD LUCK if you are planning on taking one
your curiosity is unfounded !!
Your hands are neither covered nor tied !!!
