My friend has strep and a cold, and I dono I have heard from some people if you take a shot of Jack Daniels it gets magically true and helps....is it true or false?Is it true a shot of Jack Daniels will cure a sore throat and cough?

No. But a couple of shots will make him not care!
It is not true except to make you a bit happy and relax...the same as hot buttered rum

My f-i-l was an old mexican, and he swore by his ';cough medicine'; made of lemon, honey %26amp; a jigger of tequila.

Can't speak for ol' Black Jack, but I find Southern Comfort helps with coughs and sore throats. It's not a miracle cure by any means, but it usually stops my coughs and takes the edge off a sore throat.
