Is it true that you could buy a house in US for the price of air ticket to India ?

I read an article in a newspaper that said you could buy a house for the price of an air ticket from US to India. Is that the cost of the house or the mortgage amount?Is it true that you could buy a house in US for the price of air ticket to India ?
I know flying is expensive, but it is not THAT bad.Is it true that you could buy a house in US for the price of air ticket to India ?
I've never been to India. To fly to Russia it's something around one grand for two way. I can't imagine that India would be anything over three grand, and I can't imagine finding a house for three grand anywhere, so I don't think that that is accurate.
I Went down to the southern US a couple weeks ago (Tennessee) and the land down there is so dirt cheap, its a shame i like living in Canada so much otherwise I would own a house for every month of the year.
houses in california are like 100,000 thousand to like 2 million it really just depends on wear u live it probably will go higher
There are houses here in Detroit for under 5k. They are total Sh*t boxes but a house none the less.
