Is it true you have 3 days to get out of a contract?

I'd never heard this before, but my mother said that you have three days to get out of a contract. The reason I ask is that I signed a contract on Saturday for a cell phone plan and the service is nothing like they said it would be, the phone doesn't do what they claimed it would, and I feel ripped off.





So tomorrow will be the third day. Can I get out of this legally without paying that $200 fee?Is it true you have 3 days to get out of a contract?
Depends on what Service Provider you subscribed..





Each Service Providers have differnt rules..





I have Cingular and we have 30 days to test the phone, if we are not satisfied with our plan or network provider we could return and void the contract with no termintation fee.. Just re-stocking fee for the phone.Is it true you have 3 days to get out of a contract?
I am a student and I do study Mercantile Law, but I never found any thing related to this that you have to get outa contract in 3 days... I think your mother must be missing something.. do tell her about my answer.

That would depend on the contract. So, you must read it. If there is such an out, it will be spelled out in the contract.





But, barring a way out, paying the $200 will be cheaper in the long run than having to pay for a two year stretch of service you don't want.
