Is it true that you cant see stars in the sky in Manhattan?

Is it true that you cant see stars in the sky in Manhattan? Is it true that you cant see stars in the sky in Manhattan?
i live on 5th avenue, and

its right by central park and you

can see very little stars. but on

some occasions where they

don't turn on much light, you

can see alottttt. Is it true that you cant see stars in the sky in Manhattan?
I live on Madison ave. and with the naked eye only a full but go to Connecticut or Jersey and you'll see a lot more.
In most of Manhattan. with the skyscrapers around, the chances of seeing stars are very minimal. Though, if you head up to northern Manhattan (north of 181st Street), you'll be able to see some stars since that part of Manhattan isn't as crowded....especially by the parks up there.

If you are by the Hudson River, you can see stars.
Sure you can see stars! They are just fainter and therefore you can't see as many. But you CAN see stars!!!

But there is a lot of light here, and that light makes the stars harder to see.
you can, just not as many as in the suberbs. they are dull if there is high humidity
::looks outside::

Still visible in the East Village! Not nearly as bright as rural Pennsylvania or anything, but they're there.
People say you can't see the stars because of all the tall buildings and lights, which is totally true, but not all of Manhattan is like that. If you go up to Washington Heights, there aren't as many lights, the buildings are smaller, and it's elevated in relation to the rest of the island, so stargazing is easier.

Also, there is a castle in Central Park called the Belvedere Castle which is, I believe, the highest point in Central Park. Before becoming a tourist spot, Belvedere was a meteorological point to... watch the stars. And a lot of the area around Belvedere is clear because of the baseball fields nearby. So, for most Manhattanites, people can see the stars if they choose to find those wonderful star gazing places.
I didn't see any stars but I wasn't looking. Have a nice time
Any time there is a lot of light, the stars will be more difficult to see. So any major city will not be the place to star gaze. You'll need to get away from the lights for that.
You really can't see much because of light pollution. You'd have to go further away from the city to see more, but you can see a few stars on a clear night.
