I have a Yorkshire Terrier, Nd Shih Tzu Mix i was wondering if i cut her hair would it grow a different color. Nd her roots are a different color. Is it True that a Dogs Hair Color CHanges after being cut?
I have a silky terrier, and when he gets shaved, he loses the silver color, and his fur is mostly black with a few strands of silver. But when his hair grows back it turns back to silver
Even though the roots are a different color her hair will still grow the color that it is when it is longIs it True that a Dogs Hair Color CHanges after being cut?
A double-coated dog (Like a Corgi!) should never be shaved. Its percieved change in color is due to the fact that its weatherproof guard hair will never grow back if shaved, thus only the lighter undercoat will grow back and the corgi will appear a different color. And the dog will lose its waterproof coat, and the ability to keep cool in the summer, warm in the winter, without the guard hair present.
A yorkie-shih tzu mix is not double coated, so a hair cut would not appear to change its coat color. It will grow out as before. However, be aware the yorkie's coats change color with age, from a black/silver color to a blue/blonde color. This is a natural part of maturing, has nothing to do with grooming.
Just because the hair is cut will not make it grow in a different color. Many times the undercoat is a different color and you will see this after the top layer is cut.Sometimes if the dog looses hair in a spot it will grow back in a different shade but will change back over as the hair ages.
Some dogs as they age will have a change in their hair color.Black will turn gray or silver, browns more of a blonde color, ect. This is natural process and has nothing to do with cutting the hair.
Well, from personal experience, I can tell you that yes, sometimes dog鈥檚 hair color does change when cut.
My male Pembroke Corgi was red and white with small black hairs growing on his back when he was younger.
I got him shaved completely when he was about 2 yrs old, and after that, his hair grew in a light red with absolutely no black in it鈥?br>
So IMO yes your dog鈥檚 hair color can change depending on the individual dog.
I have two black dogs and they are darker when they are cut, but obviously that is just because the sun has not bleached any of the color out. I know dog's hair color does change over time, just like people's. One of my dogs had a white chest as a puppy and over the course of the first year it went all black. Not it's coming back gray.
Yeah, depends on the breed though.
With Shih Tzu (not sure on Yorkies) they do turn the colour of their roots. Our puppy at the moment (Shih Tzu) is white, gold, brown and black but he - like his parents - will be a white and gold adult (his roots are gold where the black/brown tips are).
DUH???
The color %26amp; texture is the TIPS!
Wacking it off(BAD GROOMING!!!) ruins it.
Even on mutts.
It depends... because my cousin had an all black cocker spaniel puppy. Then at 8 weeks old she got brown on her. and then when she got a hair cut she had white on her too! :3
I don't know why it would, but my black and white Lhasa mix became a gray and white dog after his first shave.
no the bottom of the hair is sometimes a different color
